We’ve been manically taking notes and photos backstage at London Fashion Week over the past few days, so we can share our favourite looks with you! We went backstage with Bumble and bumble at the SS14 Thomas Tait show yesterday – the last official day of LFW. Read on for the full lowdown:
Head hair stylist James Pecis wanted to create dual textures in the hair to mirror the dual textures of the collection. Bumble and bumble’s Prep Spray was used all over the hair, which was then parted down the centre. Thickening Hairspray was then layered through the hair to ensure the texture was even before James blow-dried hair smooth.
Once dry, the stylists took 4-inch sections from both sides of the head at the front. The hair was then pulled back into a ponytail at the the nape of the neck and secured, creating an alice band effect. The rest of the hair was left to hang over the top and hide the bulk of the ponytail.
The bottom third of the hair was then coated with copious amounts of Shine Spray, for a wet look texture. This created an almost dip dye effect with the textures – dry at the roots and wet towards the ends.
The finishing touch? Spray de Mode was used to keep everything in place. Then the models were ready for make-up…
Head make-up artist Thomas de Kluyver explained that the look was fresh and sophisticated. Highlight-heavy, MAC’s Strobe Cream accentuated high points down the centre of the face and along the cheekbones. Eyebrows were penciled in for added definition (spot a pattern here?!) and four girls were given a statement red lip. The others stayed natural with dewy skin courtesy of MAC’s Face and Body Foundation.
